Mr. Niles received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Towson University. Before graduating Niles received awards for his aptitude in mineralogy and petrology and for his outstanding overall academic performance. In addition, Niles has experience with environmental remediation, clean lab chemistry, petrographic microscope analysis, and soil and water sampling. Since joining SSI, Mr. Niles has received formal training in conducting pre-construction surveys, seismic monitoring, and crack monitoring through SSI’s in-house training program. He has received his OSHA Construction Safety and Health training certificate, and is a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers, and Association of Engineering Geologists. His professional experience includes vibration monitoring of construction activity, blasting, analysis of seismograph data, attenuation studies, pre-blast/construction inspection of structures, crack gauge installation and monitoring, and public relations.
