Adam Marr President

James A. Fleming, PLS Director of Operations

Mr. Fleming has more than 35 years of experience in business operations management and the technical execution and management of construction and design survey projects throughout the nation in the transportation, utility, public works and vertical construction sectors. These projects have had an emphasis on linear and vertical construction, control network establishment, deformation and settlement monitoring programs. Mr. Fleming was the survey matter expert for the 2017 revision of the DC DOT Design Manual, has been published multiple times in national surveying magazines, and is the former editor of Professional Surveyor Magazine. He is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in MD, DC, DE, VA & PA

Benjamin Spindler, P.G. Senior Geologist

Mr. Spindler has a BS degree in Geology from Radford University. Since joining SSI, he has received experience in vibration and movement monitoring as well as pre-blast/construction surveys. Mr. Spindler has received formal training in conducting pre-condition surveys and seismic monitoring through Seismic Surveys, LLC in-house training program. Mr. Spindler is a certified ICC – Residential Building Inspector. His professional experience includes vibration monitoring of blasting, analysis of seismograph data, pre-blast/construction inspection of structures, and public relations.
W Clifford Miller

W. Clifford Miller, II Southeast Operations Manager

Cliff is SSI’s Florida Area Manager and is based in our Brevard County, Florida office. He has specialized experience and training in the implementation of vibration monitoring programs on blasting, construction, and demolition projects. He has received formal training in conducting pre-construction structure surveys, seismic monitoring, and crack monitoring through SSI’s in-house training program. He has received his OSHA Construction Safety and Health training certificate and is a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers. He has over three years of experience in vibration monitoring, analysis of seismograph data, airblast studies, installation and use of Automated Motorized Total Stations (AMTS) for settlement monitoring, and crack gauge installation and monitoring. Cliff is a licensed UAS Remote Pilot (Certificate No. 4106105) through the FAA.

Kendall Dean Assistant Controller

Kendall received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Economics from McDaniel College. She is SSI’s Assistant Business Administrator and is responsible for assisting with the operational, organizational, and managerial responsibilities of the company. She has also received her Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence (PACE).

Brittney Johnson Project Geologist

Ms. Johnson has a BS degree in Geology from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and a MS degree in Geochemistry from the University of Oklahoma. She has gained experience in vibration and movement monitoring and has received in-house, formal training in conducting pre-condition surveys and seismic monitoring through Seismic Surveys, LLC. Ms. Johnson has her OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Health training certificate. Her professional experience includes petroleum geology, reservoir mapping, analysis of seismograph data, vibration monitoring of construction activities, and public relations.

Paul Ponton, III Project Scientist

While earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science at Towson University, Mr. Ponton interned with the Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability, assisting in the restorative health and monitoring efforts of the counties’ municipal waterways. Shortly after graduation, he was contracted by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to spearhead the mitigation strategy against the introduction of invasive species within Deep Creek Lake, MD. Before coming to SSI, Mr. Ponton became a respected veteran of the solar industry working with the largest firms in the United States. Paul is currently SSI’s Instrumentation Manager and is responsible for managing the inventory, service, maintenance, and deployment of over 200 engineering seismographs and other geotechnical and structural instrumentation nationwide. Since joining SSI, Mr. Ponton has recieved formal training in seismograph operation and ICC residential building inspection. In addition, he has received his OSHA Construction Safety and Health training certificate.

Brian Kelly, Ph. D. Project Geologist

Dr. Kelly earned his Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Prior to joining Seismic Surveys, LLC, Dr. Kelly conducted scientific research on rupture processes of large-magnitude earthquakes, using insights from these studies to inform seismic hazard assessments which have bearing on public earthquake safety. As part of this research, he interned with the United States Geological Survey (USGS), working on improving their National Seismic Hazard Model (NSHM), which estimates earthquake hazards across the U.S. His other professional experience includes public education, teaching several courses within UF’s geology curriculum.

Ian Soifer Instrumentation Manager

Mr. Soifer received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography from the University of Alabama. He has experience in performing vibration monitoring, both attended and unattended, conducting pre- and post-construction/blast surveys, and installing and maintaining geo-structural instrumentation. He has received formal training in conducting pre-condition surveys as well as seismic and settlement monitoring. His professional experience includes vibration monitoring of blasting and construction activity, analysis of seismograph data, pre-blast/construction inspection of structures, and public relations.
Bob DiLullo

Mr. DiLullo received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from Stockton University. Since joining SSI, Mr. DiLullo has received experience in vibration and movement monitoring as well as pre-blast/construction surveys. He has received formal training in conducting pre-condition surveys, seismic monitoring, crack gauge installation and monitoring through Seismic Surveys, LLC in-house training program. He has also received his OSHA Construction Safety and Health training certificate and is a certified ICC - Residential Building Inspector. Trevor Brown Senior Staff Geologist

Mr. Brown has a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science from Salisbury University. Mr. Brown has received formal training in conducting pre-condition surveys and seismic monitoring through Seismic Surveys, LLC in-house training program. He has received his OSHA 30-hour Safety and Health Certificate, is MARTCP certified in Soil & Aggregate Compaction, and has been certified in the operation of nuclear density gauges and HAZMAT transport. Before joining Seismic Surveys, Mr. Brown gained professional experience in the fields of geotechnical engineering, construction, and disaster relief.

Andrew Langley Senior Staff Geologist

Erika Heymann Staff Geologist

Ms. Heymann earned her Bachelor of Science in Geology from Towson University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Science. In addition to working on her thesis, she serves as a research assistant in geoscience research education. Prior to joining Seismic Surveys LLC, Ms. Heymann worked as a Staff Environmental Science/Field Technician, where she was responsible for remediating petroleum contamination. She has received training in OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Seismic Surveys, LLC’s in-house training program for conducting pre-condition inspections and monitoring equipment operations. At present, Ms. Heymann is a Staff Scientist at SSI where she conducts pre- and post-condition surveys, installs vibration and movement monitoring equipment, analyzes vibration and movement monitoring data, and prepares periodic monitoring reports.

Justin Tamborello Staff Engineer

Justin Tamborello received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Mr. Tamborello has received formal training in seismic monitoring, vibration monitoring equipment, and has completed his OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health training certificate. Since joining Seismic Surveys, LLC in January 2025 as a Staff Engineer, Mr. Tamborello has gained experience in vibration monitoring, pre-construction surveys, seismograph data analysis, and reporting. His project work includes beach fill and settlement monitoring projects.
Breanna McGarvey

Breanna McGarvey Office Administrator

Breanna received a Bachelor of Science in Family Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. She possesses a strong background in organizational and analytical skills, along with multitasking skills and the ability to simultaneously manage various projects and schedules. She is SSI’s Office Administrator and is responsible for supporting and coordinating office activities to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies. Prior to beginning her role at SSI, Breanna has over 10 years of experience working as an administrator.
