Seismic Surveys (SSI) developed blasting specifications and reviewed Contractor’s blasting plan for excavation of over 300,000 yards of diabase rock.  Reviewed blasting plan as to conformance of the plan with currently accepted blasting practice, and conformance with the project specifications.  A report was submitted on the contractor’s blasting plan to the Engineer, Jacobs Facilities.  Subsequent blast plans were reviewed and submitted periodically throughout the project.  SSI conducted pre-blast surveys of six large commercial buildings, including those housing sensitive equipment.  A vibration monitoring and control plan was developed and implemented on this project.
