PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Seismic Surveys (SSI) was engaged by the Geotechnical Engineer of record to conduct a pre-construction photographic and videographic survey of the existing National Aquarium of Baltimore building prior to pile driving and demolition operations for new adjacent construction. The photographic and videographic documentation was prepared as formal reports and submitted to the Owner prior to construction. During pile driving operations for deep foundations, three continuously recording seismic stations were operated by SSI and the data analyzed and reported weekly. Each seismograph was equipped with a remote visual strobe alarm that alerted the Contractor if vibrations approached or exceeded project specified limits.
