PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The spillway remediation project involved the modification of a high-hazard dam structure that was at risk of overtopping. Drilling and blasting operations were performed to expand the spillway. Prior to blasting operations, Seismic Surveys, Inc. (SSI) performed pre-blast inspections of the surrounding structures. During blasting operations, SSI monitored vibrations and provided blasting consultation to ensure protection of the existing dam and third-party structures. Vibration data measured throughout blasting operations was used to calculate site specific regression curves to assist in the blast design.
